As always Wanda Brunstetter has written a wonderful Amish story. The Hope Jar is different from other Amish stories and it was such a great story. The only negative to this book, it will be February 2019 before the second book in the series is released. 😞 I highly recommend this book!

Oh my word, this story seemed so real. Michelle had such a horrific upbringing, to see her finally start realizing that she wasn't alone and also realizing that God is real and always with her, makes this a truly touching story. I imagine in the second book that Michelle will still face many challenges, but that she will finally find peace and fulfillment in God's love.

I love Wanda Brunstetter books and this last one did not disappoint! If you like romance and lots of suspense this is the book for you. I couldn't put it down!

There was nothing I didn't like about this book. I couldn't put it down. I was anxious to see what would happen when the real Sara turned up at her grandparents farm. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I want to find out if Michelle converts to the Amish faith and if the relationship with Ezekiel turns to marriage.

Wanda Brunstetter what a fantastic book I love the Prayer jar. The story is about deceit but Michelle needed the love of a family she never had of course she went about it the wrong way love and forgiveness is what life is all about I can't wait until February for the next book I think I have read every book you have written and enjoyed every single one of them. Oh no, I can't believe Part I of the story is over. The Hope Jar (The Prayer Jars Book 1), by Wanda Brunstetter, is a Great read. You meet Michell, Sarah, Mary Ruth, Willis Lapp, Brad, Ezekiel and many more friends. I look forward to the next one.

I enjoyed this story and I am so sure others will, too. This author always does such a great job writing and I have read many of her writings. I am pleased with this and hope to read the next one, too.

An interesting book on how a individual had a difficult life, than met an Amish couple who tried to help. Very exciting and great reading.

Great book on the Wasp Major, the final engine of Pratt and Whitney's famous Wasp radial engine family. The Wasp Major was a very important engine because compared to the Wright 3350 Duplex Cyclone it was very reliable. For this reason it was used in the B-50 Superfortress which was an upgraded B-29 with the Wasp Major and other improvements. The Wasp Major was also used on the B-36 Peacemaker which used six of these engines in an unusual pusher configuration. These six engines produced a whopping 14,000 to 15,200 horsepower combined to propel the Peace maker into the sky. Compared to the B-17 Flying Fortress the Peacemaker had over 3x the horsepower but this is because the Peacemaker is over 6x the weight of the Flying Fortress Later models of the Peacemaker also used jet engines which added 20,800 pound of thrust for short periods of time. The Wasp Major was not without its faults however. Although mechanically reliable, the Wasp Major had a tendency to catch on fire mid flight especially on the B-36 because of its pusher configuration. The Wasp Major was also very maintenance intensive and an improper starting technique would destroy all 56 spark plugs requiring hours to clean and replace. This is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone fascinated with aircraft engines.

This book is not for everyone. Everything you might want to know about the P&W Wasp Major radial, many clear diagrams and photos, stories about Old Shakey and the Super Corsair at the Reno races. This is a heavy soft cover book, make sure your seller packages it for the journey (mine did not and it arrived bent).

Graham White's book on P&W's R-4360 is a fine and thorough study of one of the greatest aeronautical piston engines ever produced. If you are at all interested in the general subject of aircraft engines, or even engines generally, you should obtain a copy to read and enjoy studying and savoring it slowly over the months after you first go through it. The text is clear and it is well illustrated, all that a book on an aircraft engine should be. My only quibble, and it is a quibble, is that the down-draught inlet ports, a distinct feature of the R-4360, have a much longer history than Mr. White seems to indicate, having been used by BMW in sportscar engines in the 1930s and by Miller in racing engines even earlier; however, since these examples are drawn from outside his field of study, Mr White may be excused, and even were this not the case, the general quality of this work would win him praise not criticism.

I have been facinated with the R-4360 since I built a B-36 model while in grade school. I did get to see and hear one C-124 depart Lajes AB, Azores while in the USAF. What a sound! This book has a wealth of photos, detailed diagrams and data concerning the applications of the various models of the 4360 and some info on the R-2800 and the R-3350. There are great photos of planes involved, both exterior and interior. By the time I went on active duty, the turboprops had taken over and the sweet rumble of the big radials had been replaced by the awful scream of the kerosene burners. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who loves the round engines.Michael Reid, DVM

After enjoying Graham White's prodigious tome on the P&W R-2800, I was pleased to see another volume released, this time on the R-4360. Mr. White must have access to a tremendous archive of information, because both these books provide a level of detail that can satisfy the most discerning aviation buff. He is also able to describe the various engine systems in a way that does not overwhelm the reader with technical minutiae, something most engineers would be incapable of doing.About the only drawback of these books is their sheer weight. I can only read them for 20 minutes or so before my arms need a rest. I would also have liked to see a chapter or two on Mr. White's efforts at setting up these engines as running displays for air shows. Although not directly related to the history of the engine, to read about actually running one of these on a transport trailer would add a note of current realism to the picture.

I wish I had bought the book when it first came out. As it was, I had to wait for the price to come down from atmospheric levels. Now that I have the volume, well it is consistent with everything else written by Mr. White. If you have any interest what so ever in aircraft piston engine design and development, buy this book.

A very thorough treatment of the patents that protected the intellectual propeerty on this design. Many photos of the industrial processes that grew out of second source and GFE status of teh drawings. Maybe I am inferring too much about how the cost escalate for this type engine when operate out of small fields with short runways from the Product Support incidents that pertain to main bearing life with frequent flat prop descents. Nothing about reverse props is given. Anyway 70 years later the idea of how a world spanning airliner would fare in reduced circumstances gives some idea of why running versions are so rare. Has some special information on race use.

Fascinating engine. Fascinating story. White clearly knows his engines. But the writing is so pedestrian that it interferes a bit with enjoy all of the above...

Make the crust: Preheat oven to 350°F. In a food processor, process butter and one-third of coconut until mixture forms a ball, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl. Sprinkle remaining two-thirds coconut over mixture, and combine with your fingers. 2. Place a 9-inch pie plate on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Press coconut mixture into bottom and up sides of pan to form crust, leaving top edges loose and fluffy. Place a foil ring over edge to prevent burning. Bake until center begins to brown, 10 to 15 minutes; remove foil, and bake until edges are browned, 4 to 6 minutes more. Transfer crust to a wire rack to cool completely. 3. Make the filling: Bring cream just to a boil in a small saucepan; pour over chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl. Let sit 10 minutes, then stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is combined. Pour into coconut crust. Refrigerate until filling is set, 1 hour or up to 1 day.

I have all of Martha Stewart's cookbooks, so I was pretty excited when this one arrived.Some of the other reviewers have gone in great detail about the exact recipes etc., so I won't bore you with that.What I love about this cookbook (as with the rest of her cookbooks) are:1) a photo for each recipe! I really dislike cookbooks that have a recipe and no photo, particularly for desserts. after all, i want to know what it is going to look like.2) very clear, concise, and reliable directions.3) it's very clearly organized (both the cookbook and each recipe)4) a short blurb on the top for each recipe giving you tips/pointers5) excellent step-by-step photos/directions in the back of the book for making pate sucree or pate brisee or puff pastry.I trust Martha Stewart and know she will not put her name on a recipe unless it has been tested over and over.She hasn't failed met yet!First pie I made was chocolate cream pie. Yes, it's a novice pie, but I have a 3 yr old so I wanted a crowd pleaser (or rather a kid-pleaser). Easy to follow directions for the crust, filling and whipped topping. It was absolutely delicious and looked professional. Pie was finished by my guests.Second thing I made was the fruit tart. Rather than do the mini tarts, I did two nine-inch tarts (and she has notes in case you want to do a lot of mini ones or larger 9-inch tarts). Made the pate sucre, made the vanilla pastry cream the day before (my husband and kids licked the spoon from that!) and assembled it a few hours before serving. Beautiful, delicious and I was so pleased with the results.I highly recommend this cookbook, and with her clear instructions, beautiful photos and wide assortment of crowd-pleasing recipes, I know this will be one I will be referring to over and over. Wow. I was looking for a great pie book or two, and passed this one over at first because, Martha Stewart, boring, right? But after buying / looking at several newer, blogger-style, seasonal, artisan, pie-goddess type books and not liking them at all, I ordered this book because it was inexpensive and I thought it might be a good reference. OMG, I love it! There are so many recipes that I'm dying to make, it's hard to decide where to start. The photos are gorgeous, and the instructions are clear and simple. Most recipes are very straight-forward and look like they will be easy to execute. I'm thrilled with this book and not even looking at another.

I'm sure this is a perfectly fine cookbook for someone but it wasn't the one for me. I have the cookie one like this and love it but returned this one the same day it arrived. I just want classic pies with a few new fangled things thrown in.

I was THRILLED to see this book arrive as I am a " cake and bread baker" and in my yrs of baking,,,,, I can probably count the number of pies I have made on one hand~Shameful ,,,,and I considered myself a "baker"?? I have made it a priority this year to bake favorite pies for birthdays , home celebrations , picnics and potlucks ~ I thought it was high time I face this challenge head on . I bought tiny pie tins for the children's pies after picking a load of apples from our small orchard I do think the addition of fruit in many pies/tarts has a healthier edge than heavy layer cakes which I had made for so many years~ and of course, one can control the sweetness~I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of the first tart I made which was the peach and berry tart.( First chapter) It is easily made up in only a few minutues, then baked~I baked this for DH to take to a men's breakfast at church ~It was so pretty that someone said it looked more like decoration than dessert! And it was my FIRST tart! But the TASTE was even better!( he saved a piece for me) I did use the called for addition of cornmeal to the tart crust and it did have a great flavor in an all fruit tart which is now my favorite tart!The tart looked GORGEOUS and made it look like I was an expert pie baker , I can assure you I am not! I did things a bit different tho, and I am assuming for the most part a lot of the pies are subject to individual taste~ I made this in an 8" tart pan( because it looked prettier!) and added a few nectarines in w/ the peaches, which made for an excellant taste~I DID however have to add more than double sugar suggested, and I do not have a huge sweet tooth , so maybe the fruit pies are way way under the sweetness range for me?? But perhaps not for you~I have had tarts in Europe and do realize that they do use less sugar all the way around except for maybe Austria or Germany?I had to double the amount of time baking this tart even tho my oven temp is spot on,, I did have some pie covers that I had collected( and never used!) that I topped over the very crust so the top would not get burned,,,,,so far,,so good,,,I think this is all part of the learning curve for me b/c the apple pies and pumpkin pies came out perfect as per recipe in the book.I won't give a whole list of the pies, other reviewers have been kind enough to do so,,but I will say as my confidence in pie making grows I will be happily baking those birthday PIES this year ~ my favorite is mile high lemon,,,,,DH, cherry pie from our own trees. I really wanted to master pie making as we grow a TON of cherries, berries and have a lot of fruit trees that have now matured enough to bear a lot,,,,,so now is THE time! And , being so blessed to have a mini orchard on our land, I wanted to USE it to its best potential b/c the price of fruit is getting higher by the week. I am hoping to look up to see if I can freeze a pie unbaked) so I can have a fresh pie to go when we have people over for a quick brunch or dinner, I have heard this can be done but will have to look at this further has anyone done this successfully I wonder?)I cannot see how any baker could be bored with this book , it is a gorgeous COLLECTION of many pies one can bake and the photograpy is stunning~( so you can see just how your pie is to look finished! Some of us NEED this.... which is often missing in cookbooks or e recipesI like inspiration, and to see what I can bake w/ what I happen to have on hand in any particular season ,as I said, we grow a lot of berries and cherries that I used to freeze for toppings to cakes which is kind of sad now that I think of it~ While I work my way thru the pie book I will be careful to taste fruits and berries, and even cremes so I am certain they are up to my taste levelI do think that it will only be a taste thing with the fruit tho~Only one problem,,,,,THE famous " Elegant Farmer Pie" baked in a brown bag which has been on cooking shows to compete with) has never been duplicated w/ accuracy yet!I know, I live a few miles from where they make this great pie but I am sure going to look it up on the net.Love love love the book! My husband is also happy, because it is true,many people are pie lovers first and cake lovers second~ One big disclaimer here,,,,I do NOT eat much sugar , I my eat pie maybe 3 times a year?? But I LOVE to bake and bake I do,,,,,for others!This book is a very good thing~

This is a beautiful primer for those who want to make modern and traditional, professional pies and tarts, both sweet and savory. There are a great variety of recipes, and the instructions are clear. I especially like the illustrations that accompany the instructions for making dough in a food processor. The instructions show what the dough should look like at every stage of the process. This book is well worth the price, and then some.

This is a fun book. There is no great depth in the text explaining the photos but it is all about the pictures. I do offer a slight caveat. More than a few of the facts associated with the photos are incorrect. I noticed at least 6 errors without any need to double check. My theory is that most of the data were found using a simple web search and there was no effort to fact check. Some offenses are simply blatant. For example,the price of a current version Maserati Gran Turisimo is listed in what I can only assume as being in Australian dollars or a more direct offense is where an 8 cylinder Lamborgini Jalpa is listed as being a V10). That aside I find myself enjoying the photographs and making mental tick marks as to what cars I want in my garage some day.Even if you cannot read English (in which case you would not be reading this review) this book is a worthwhile and fun purchase for any petrol head if simply for the collection of photos.

This is a good book. I like it not only because there's good information in it about different cars, but it also tells me how fast cars go that I have models of! For example, one of the cars you can find in this book is the Ferrari FXX. That one has a top speed of 243 mph! Another example: the Alpine-Renault A110, which has a top speed of 130 mph. Even if you can't afford even one of the cars in this book, think this: at least you can have good pictures/models of them. Also in this book is the Jaguar XJ220, whose top speed is 220 mph. You can also see the Bugatti Veyron--which has a top speed of 268 mph. And just so many more! A good book to have!

This is not a high quality product for the car connoisseur; however, it is ok for kids under 12

My teenage son is a huge fan of sports cars, especially Lamborghinis and such. He loves flipping through and deciding whether or not he agrees with the decisions made by the authors - and, for the most part, he does. This is a high-quality, truly beautiful book - with all the right cars to make a car-lover happy.

My oldest grandson loves cars and this book has so much to engross a young car lover, Thank you offering this.

Great photos of numerous high-end cars. The book contains various info about the cars. I have read other review(s) that claim the info is not entirely correct. That doesn't matter a whole lot to me...as long as it's close. I can do further research if I want particulars. The book is good to start conversations and gives you a good idea of what "dream" cars are out there.

I got this book for my 12-year-old son for Christmas, and he LOVES it. Reads it all the time. If you have a kid/teenager who is a sports car fan, this is a great book to buy for them.

It's a great learning tool for not only talent but, managers, owners and program directors as well. This book should stay a staple not only for new talent but, also seasoned radio professionals as an on-going guide, a refresher if you will. I gave it a 5-star rating because I felt it touched on important key points that radio professionals need to know.

After 28 years of being a radio personality, in and out of a Top 5 market, I needed Valerie's book because I was so frustrated at the results of my so-called career. I blamed the industry, consolidation, and incompetent ownership and management. I especially liked the part when the presents keep disappearing. I honestly could not guess who did it, and I am usually pretty good at guessing who the culprit is.But I still think it's pretty silly that Mandie and Celia are so scared of mice. For pity's sake, they have got on more clothes...well, I would have good reason to be scared of them because I usually go around barefoot, but they got boots, stockings, the works! They should get a grip.

This book is so great because I just love Mandie and I have every Mandie book. My reccomedation is: Read it!

Antonina lives with her husband and small son in a villa on the zoo grounds. They are extremely knowledgeable about the animals in their care; each one with their individual quirks, and all loved like family. The zoo is well ahead of its time in providing natural habitats for its residents. Laid out like a lush garden, it’s a world famous showplace, a haven for both people and animals. Then the Nazis come with their tanks and bombs and total disregard for life. Drunken Gestapo agents shoot animals in their cages for sport. A pig the son is caring for is snatched away and butchered. But somehow the family manages, by one clever ploy after another, to remain at the villa where they daringly rescue Jews and work in the resistance. Yet through all the fear and deprivation, the spirit triumphs.Yes, at times Ackerman indulges in excessive scene-setting, eulogizing linden trees, for instance. Or she'll go off on a pages-long explanatory tangent - which, despite my impatient nature, nearly always proved fascinating. But all-in-all, I'd have to rank The Zookeeper's Wife right up there with Leon Uris' Mila 18 for a story that will haunt you forever.

I wanted to like this book. The premise is great and I like that the author tried to incorporate actual quotes from diaries and other historical sources into the story. Unfortunately, this is a case of an author who desperately needed a more assertive editor. There were very long and boring tangents that lost my attention. I put this book down/away multiple times and even considered not finishing it, but then forced myself to finish it because I was reading it for my book club. The thing that I despised most about the book was the changing voice in the writing. Sometimes it was told in first person and then it would suddenly shift to third person. In other words, it would say, "So and so did such and such", and then, "She probably felt X based on this passage" (that would then include a quote from her diary). I would have been OK with either writing style, but the constant switching back and forth was irritating.

I have a big interest in WWII history. I was really looking forward to reading this book, especially with all the great reviews I had heard about it. It was selected for my book club, and all of us felt the author was WAY too wordy/descriptive about the most mundane things. For example, there was a whole page listing every type of beetle a man had collected. On top of that, the book seemed very choppy and sometimes hard to follow, it jumped around a lot.

Reading this book I eventually began to wonder if it was in fact a novel or rather an awkward attempt at yet another history of the much documented and infamous Warsaw Ghetto of World War 2. It frequently bogs down in plodding, excruciatingly boring sidebars and tedious enumerations of names and other details that do nothing to advance whatever the plot is supposed to be. I always try to finish any book I start, but in this case I completely lost interest a little short of halfway and gave it up as a pointless waste of time.

This is such a good book I could not put it down. Such a clever idea to tell the story of the zoo and the Warsaw experience under Nazi rule. I look forward to the movie as I want to see how th e y made a movie from this book. Jack Kushner

I was waiting to see the movie before I wrote my review.....This book was amazing.......I learned so much about what Warsaw Poland had to deal with during WW2......it is unbelievable how they accomplished all they did and how many were saved because of this underground network....and this family's willingness to help....they must have all been terrorized fearing what could happen if they were caught....the people and their helpers were an amazing group of people.....I kept trying to picture our (US) having to go through something like this......it's horrifying.....the parts about the actual zoo and the animals and the ones they kept in their homes....was a nice touch to add some pleasure among so much heartache........and what they did to those poor animals.....well, between the people and the animals......I cried many times....I had to shut the book sometimes.....because I was so sad....It is on my list as one of my favorite books I have read.....now to the movie.....I think it is always better to read the book first......you learn so much...that being said.....no movie has ever been as good as the book....because they just couldn't make a two hour movie and get everything in the movie.....the movie, however, was very disappointing......I think they could have done a much better job....if you don't want to be disappointed, I'd read the book and forget about the movie....the book is amazing and so well written.....if you only see the movie, you will be missing out on the entire experience that the book avails you.....you will not really have learned anything about this chapter in WW2.....

In 20 years of professional airbrushing I have never seen such poor instruction book published. The only good part of the book was seeing the gallery of work from good artists. The Airbrush Handbook is a far better choice for quality instruction... Including T shirt work.

Basic stuff in here. The book is old, and I bought this like, 10 years ago. Guess ill review it. It's ok, nothing fancy, but they don't really give you step by step, its more like....hey, look what others can do, and when you figure out how they did it, you can do it too.

Fascinating book on living in a culture many Westerners a) don't know much about, and b) don't quite understand. Engaging, funny, and thought provoking. My only wish is that the author would have elaborated a little more on how he personally negotiated his relationship, so to speak, to his home country. There is a bit more "it just is the way it is" (in terms of how women are treated, enforcing laws, etc) rather than "this is how I reconcile the two different viewpoints." I like and appreciate that Mr. Majd has a connection and appreciation for Iran, but as a reader would have liked a little more discussion of how he emotionally and cognitively reconciled the differences, other than anecdotes of how he and his family avoided patrols and kept quiet and under the radar. Having said that, a really good read.

Hooman Majd's latest book is a very personal recounting of the year he recently spent living in Tehran. It was his first time to live in Iran since his own infancy - Majd grew up living outside of Iran, primarily in the US and UK, and so he was living in Iran for the first time as an adult, bringing his American wife and infant son along with him.Iran today is perhaps the most strategically important country in the world where the U.S. does not maintain a diplomatic presence. We need to understand one another better than we presently do. Although the U.S. is not officially represented in Iran, the UK did maintain an embassy until 2011 - and in fact it was on Nov 29, 2011, during Majd's stay in Tehran, when the British Embassy was stormed and subsequently shut down. The UK immediately expelled Iran's embassy staff from London, and only recently have the two countries began to talk together about reopening their respective embassies.This book attracted me because I want to understand Iran better, at a personal level. Reading Majd's words, I have the impression that he is a very good and decent person. His pride of Iran and of his Iranian heritage is evident throughout. He is very honest in sharing his personal thoughts throughout his stay in Tehran, his anxieties as he lived in Iran and helped his wife and son to adapt to the country.Their adjustment to life Tehran takes time. The pollution of Tehran is severe (Economist magazine in 2011 said that Tehran is one of the most unlivable cities in the world), and his descriptions of the prevalence of small scooters darting through congested traffic, and the adaptations needed to live with a small child in Tehran (they learn that toting a car seat while taking their son with them in taxis is unworkable), are interesting. Modern Iran is a security state, but on the surface life is ordinary and unremarkable. And despite the pollution, Majd remarks several times to how clean the city is maintained.The life of `real' Iranians is interesting to observe, although to be fair Majd's experiences are almost entirely with upper-class and affluent members of society, often describing parties held at luxurious homes, behind high walls built for security, and with alcohol openly served. This educated and successful class of modern Iranian citizens, with their satellite television, cell phones, Facebook and twitter accounts, is not so much different from ourselves and others in western Europe and elsewhere throughout the world these days. It makes one wonder - why do people continue to tolerate the rules applied to their society, when so many clearly not only disagree with them, but also openly disregard them?And to that point, he observes that Iran has not shared the "Arab Spring" that has caused such upheaval and change elsewhere in the Middle East. He expresses profound disappointment that the '79 Islamic Revolution in Iran did not lead to a democratic era but instead resulted in the Islamic regime that Iran now endures; and perhaps the experience and disappointment in the outcome of the '79 revolution helps explain why Iran's citizens do not rise up today in another revolution. Majd does provide some good insights into this, and there are also a few places in the book where he shares stories that open the door slightly into the dark side of how the current regime behaves - Chapter 8, for example, recounts the experience of an acquaintance of Majd who had been imprisoned in the infamous Evin cells in Tehran where political prisoners are held. In fact, it was at this point in the book, almost halfway through, that I began to feel that Majd was finally providing something of substance regarding life in Iran today, since the book had so far been almost entirely his personal thoughts while getting settled in Tehran with his family and adjusting to life there.There are other interesting cultural insights. The concept of the "sulk" for example - how Iranian individuals may resort to using the sulk in order to express their disappointments or frustrations, even including the highest political leaders. The 2011 sulk of President Ahmadinejad - Majd refers to it as the "Big Sulk" in chapter 4 of the book - took place during Majd's year living in Tehran. And Ahmadinejad had plenty of precedent, going all the way back to pre-Shah days when President Mohammad Mosaddegh was known to behave similarly.There were a few disappointments in the book too, when Majd has chosen to skim over details of life in Tehran that would be fascinating to read about. For example - he mentions going to an opium party, and obviously participated himself, but beyond mentioning it he goes no further. Here is one instance where he experienced something that few of us in the west would ever have the opportunity to even observe, and yet he gives no insight into it. Better that he left it out completely, than tease us with the brief mention without going any further.This is not a book for someone who desires a hard analysis of the Iranian regime or political structure today (for that perhaps one of his earlier works would be better suited - either The Ayatollah Begs to Differ: The Paradox of Modern Iran or The Ayatollahs' Democracy: An Iranian Challenge). It is a personal recollection, and in personalizing the story, Majd again and again discusses his own anxieties regarding the risks he was taking in deciding to live in Iran with his wife and infant son. In the end, he had no serious problems whatsoever while living there, and so perhaps that was the point - emphasizing his fears while making it clear that none were realized.

I went to Iran to work and live in the 1970's . My journey was unusual for an American in that I went along with a good Persian friend and also. In that I had no contact with Americans or their surrogates during my many years there. Yes, like many I was was unable to remain in Iran after 1979 but my love for the people and culture of Iran remains intact. This excellent account has helped me much better understand the current state in Iran and has renewed my faith that all of the good parts of the culture remain intact .

well-written smart appraisal of current views and events in Iranian daily life generally, however it is less than accurate in its description of a foreign woman's existence in contemporary Iran and its grave limitations and precarious circumstances. This book gives the impression that it is safe for a foreign woman to live in Iran today, that's very far from the truth, even when your husband is an ayatollah's relative.

Laugh out loud--the best black humor I've read in a long time. Yes, life in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) really is a near-total fiasco, proving C. S. Lewis's dictum that 'theocracy is the worst form of government.' Sometimes you don't know whether to laugh or cry at life under this ridiculous but tragic regime. Slowly but surely, the IRI is destroying itself, but unfortunately its taking countless innocent lives with it, including many of the best hearts and minds that Iran has to offer. Remember Hamlet saying that 'Denmark's a prison'? Wonder what he would have said about Iran.

The book came on time and in very good condition. The book is interesting, educational on a country that I know close to nothing about. The author's style is easy and engaging

The book was very informative about current life in Iran under the embargos. Also the information about their political system is most intriguing. I found that it bogged down a bit towards the end but otherwise it was a good read.
