This book has an extremely serious failing that any potential buyer should know about before buying it:It contains no episode plot synopses worthy of the name.For instance, the final four episodes of the season where J.R. is shot (season 2 in here, season 3 in the DVDs) are as follows:Jock's arrest.Digger's confessionJ.R.'s deals.J.R. is shot.That's it. Nothing about Hutch McKinney's remains on Southfork, nothing about Pam's father, nothing about the Ewing 23 paper, nothing about the Asian revolution, and above all nothing about all the reasons various characters had for wanting to shoot J.R. And all the episodes are like that.I'm one of many fans who watched the first several seasons, but didn't make it all the way through the 13-season run. I thought I could browse through the latter seasons' plot synopses more easily than click-bating summaries online. So I'm not happy with the product I received.Other than that, the book has a lot of good information, but that's like saying "other than that, Captain, how was the Titanic's maiden voyage?" Knocking off one rating star wasn't enough, so I knocked off two, and I still think I'm being generous.

Very informative, first and foremost. It breaks down each season, and for the record, this book goes by Dallas only have 13 seasons. They don't count "Season 1", the first five episodes, as a season, they call it a mini-series, which it was. Anyways, this is a very good book. There isn't no breakdown on the characters, which is somewhat disappointing, but this book, overall, didn't disappoint me. Each episode is listed with their original air date, plot line, and more uniquely their weekly rank and rating/share. It's a pretty thick and bulky book just about the show's episodes and reunion shows. It's not bad, but some may have wanted more from it.

I'm a huge fan and this is by far the best book I've ever seen on the series. The trivia and inside information is perfect for people like me who have watched every episode many times and know all the backstory! My only complaint is the numbering system for the tv seasons does not match that which is commonly accepted by most other sources, including the DVD series, online databases, and even statements by cast members when they refer to seasons. (This book considers the first season as a "Pilot" season and doesn't consider "Season One" to take place until those episodes from the 1978-79 season. This makes it difficult to refer episodes to others, and reference the items in the book with items in the DVD collection. In other words, the book considers Dallas to be 1 pilot season and 13 seasons. Most other sources just call them 14 seasons. Would love to see this fixed in any future update of this book.. which I would be sure to buy. Yeah I know it's minor, but it does get annoying when you reference the book a lot!!

This is a fun book for Dallas fans.It has lots of detail and behind the scenes tidbits. It might not be EVERYTHING you'd like to know about Dallas, but it's probably more than you really need to know! LOL

Barbara A. Curran did a phenomenal job putting together Dallas: The Complete Story of the World's Favorite Prime-Time Soap.For starters, this book is THICK and packed with information. It is a timeline of Dallas, beginning with concept development by producers, selection of cast and development of the characters, and selection of filming locations. What I found exciting about the presentation is that in addition to the full history of the show season by season, this book includes trivia facts as well as personal notes from the cast/crew/producers.This book did an excellent job of giving me the "complete" story about the show and I enjoyed it immensely. I have found it especially entertaining to read corresponding seasons in the book as I acquire the DVD's and watch them. Very insightful.The only thing I would change is perhaps expanding on the photo section, including some color photos and some larger-sized photos so you can see the details better.I would strongly recommend this book as an important addition to any Dallas fan's collection.

The person I bought this for is not an avid reader, but is a longtime fan of Dallas (who taught me that the fans are called Forkies). The recipient read the book cover to cover and kept sharing tidbits along the way.I do not intend to read this, but based on the commentary I received, the book is a must-have for Dallas fans.

Fun book - looking forward to reading it. Visited Southfork a couple of months ago. Can't wait to see what this says. 400,000 people visit there every year. Unbelievable !
